An Intro to Extract Brewing via… The White House?
Around a year ago, President Obama bought a home brewing kit and together with staffers started brewing some beer. Due to popular demand and supposedly tasty beer, The White House recently released their recipes for White House Honey Ale and White House Honey Porter. It’s actually a pretty good intro to extract brewing, so check it out.

The observation (ii) in the original post is rather strange.The prior art search is a part of patent examination, which typically would start AFTER the patent has been published i.e. available in public domain for everyone.How does CSIR gain by knowing what is already known to everyone?

I am wanting to try this recipe and ship from CA *to* DC.. when you jarred it, did you 'can' it? Or did you just drop it in the mail in a sealed container and hope you didn't kill your friends?
